Bold decisions are useful only when risk has been understood. Our approach is designed around that distinction.
Calculated risk-taking.
Risk is identified, analysed, structured and assumed selectively. We seek to understand the operating drivers of a business, the motivations of counterparties, the fragility of the downside case and the actions required to make the investment thesis work.
Thesis before process
We prefer a clear reason for engaging with a sector, company or situation rather than relying solely on auction-driven deal flow.
Downside discipline
Underwriting begins with what can go wrong, what can be controlled and which assumptions are genuinely critical.
Execution certainty
A compelling thesis has little value if the transaction structure cannot be implemented cleanly.
